What We Do
From virus removal to printer setup, cord-cutting to smart home installation — if it plugs in or connects to the internet, we can help.
Computer Repair & Troubleshooting
Slow computer, weird error messages, frozen screen, won't boot. We diagnose the problem and fix it at your kitchen table on your own equipment.
Emergency Virus & Pop-Up Removal
Scary pop-ups, fake virus warnings, locked browser, ransomware scare. We clean it out, put real protection in place, and show you how to spot the fakes.
Printer Setup & Network Printing
New printer out of the box, or an old one that stopped working. We get it connected to your Wi-Fi, installed on every computer in the house, and printing cleanly.
New Computer Setup & Data Transfer
Bought a new PC or Mac? We transfer your files, photos, bookmarks, and email from the old one, remove the bloatware, and set it up so it's ready to use.
Cord-Cutting Consultation & Install
Tired of paying $200+ a month for cable? We do a full audit of your current bills, examine every TV in your home for compatibility, and walk you through your best options. Two appointments: consultation, then install.
Internet & Wi-Fi Setup
New service activation, router and mesh Wi-Fi placement, dead-spot fixes, and speed testing so the whole house has a strong signal.
Smart Home & Ring Doorbells
Ring doorbell cameras, smart locks, thermostats, lights, and voice assistants. We consult on placement around your home's perimeter, install everything, and explain it in plain English.
Phone & Tablet Help
iPhone or Android questions, app problems, photo backup, password management, Facebook and online safety. If it has a screen, we can help you with it.
Fixed-Price Services
Most of our work is pay-what-you-feel-it's-worth (see Pricing). These three have set prices because they include hardware or software we provide.
Golf Cart Theft Tracker
We come to your home with a Samsung SmartTag or Apple AirTag, climb underneath your golf cart, and hide it in a spot where it will never be found. We install and set up the tracking app on your phone, and teach you how to use it.
If your cart is ever stolen, you'll see exactly where it is on your phone and can report the location to the police.
Villages Gate RF Tag
An RF tag that sticks to your driver's side mirror and automatically triggers the gates all over The Villages — no more hanging your arm out the window with a pass card.
We program the tag to your community's gate frequency and apply it to your cart or vehicle. Group pricing: 1 for $50, 2 for $80, 3 for $100.
Microsoft Office 2021 — Lifetime License
We install the full Microsoft Office 2021 suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and more) on your computer and sell you a lifetime license key.
One-time purchase — no subscription. Microsoft 365 costs $99/year, every year. This pays for itself in less than one year and never bills you again.
Cut the Cable Cord
One of our most popular services, but just one piece of what we do. Two separate appointments.
The Consultation
- Bill audit. We review your current cable, internet, and streaming bills line by line.
- TV compatibility check. We examine each TV in your home to confirm it can support modern streaming, and identify anything that technically blocks the capability to undertake this goal.
- Remedy suggestions. If a TV or device needs an upgrade, we tell you exactly what's needed — no pressure, no upsell.
- Jargon demystified. We give you a clear overview of terms commonly misunderstood: Smart Technology, Internet Provider (IP), Streaming, Platform, IPTV, and more.
- Recommendation. Based on a few questions, we tell you your best options — which in most cases undercut what you're currently paying by a large margin while providing superior service.
The Install
- We return on a separate day to set up everything decided during the consultation.
- Every account is created, every app is installed, every device is connected and signed in.
- We arrange the home screen, label everything clearly, and walk you through how to use it before we leave.
- Streaming subscriptions and internet service are billed directly to you by those companies — our service fee is separate.
The consultation and the install are two separate appointments. Each is compensated on the day of that visit. The amount is up to you — see Pricing.
Pricing — Pay What You Feel It's Worth
For most services, we don't charge an hourly rate and we don't quote a price up front. After the work is done, you pay whatever amount reflects the value you feel we brought to your life.
We've worked this way for years and our clients have been generous. It works because we take the time to do the job right, and because there's no pressure and no awkward negotiation. If you feel we didn't help, you don't pay. Simple as that.
Exceptions: Three services have fixed prices because they include hardware or software we provide — the Golf Cart Theft Tracker ($100), Villages Gate RF Tag ($50–$100), and Microsoft Office 2021 Lifetime License ($75).
Why we don't charge by the hour
What you see as an insurmountable technical issue is often something we've fixed five times that week alone. We're in and out in most cases in minutes. Our competitors charge $80–$100 just to show up — not including parts, labor, or consultation.
But we can't see charging you $80 to come to your home and push in an HDMI cord that was tugged a little too hard when the cleaning lady was dusting. Gas is $4 a gallon, The Villages and surrounding areas is a large place, and sometimes clients are 40 minutes from each other. We shouldn't be penalized for being efficient, and we're obviously working to support ourselves and our families.
So here's how we think about it: you're not paying for our time in your home today. You're paying for all the time it took us to learn what we're about to do to fix your issue with this kind of speed — while you were off learning other skills that enriched you.
Mike — The Geek God
Mike has been doing in-home IT work in The Villages for over four years. He handles computer repair, virus removal, printer setup, PC upgrades, cord-cutting consultations and installs, internet and Wi-Fi setup, Ring doorbell installation, golf cart trackers, gate RF tags, and just about anything else that plugs in. Most of his clients are 65+, and he built this service around the way his neighbors actually use technology — patiently, in person, in plain English.
Mike's appointments typically last 10–50 minutes because he's efficient. What looks like a major problem to you is often something he's fixed five times already that week. He's in, he fixes it, and he's out.
Schedule
- Callbacks & appointment setting: 8:30–9:30am
- First appointment: 10:00am
- Last appointment: 4:00pm (home by 5pm for family time)
- Weekends: No appointments unless Mike decides to take one. Messages left Friday–Sunday are returned Monday.
- After 5pm: Phone is off. That's family time.
How to Book
Phone: (352) 638-6720
Mike's phone is on Do Not Disturb all day. All calls go to voicemail — that's the
only way to set an appointment. Texts receive an auto-reply asking you to call and
leave a voicemail. No calls before 8:30am.
Erin — The Geek Goddess
Erin is an Apple Master who tutors, consults, and helps clients get the most from their Apple devices. She handles wireless service upgrades and plan changes, sets up new devices, and ports data from old to new. She also negotiates with cable and satellite companies on behalf of clients who'd rather not deal with the phone call themselves.
Erin's appointments are different from Mike's — she spends about three hours per visit, focused on teaching while fixing and building relationships. She takes the time to make sure you understand your device before she leaves. She has many weekly high-paying clients who value the depth of her teaching.
Schedule
- Callbacks & appointment setting: 8:30–9:30am
- Appointments: Teaching-focused, approximately 3 hours each.
- Weekends: Messages left Friday–Sunday are returned Monday.

Word of mouth and Nextdoor are how people find us. If a neighbor sent you here, thank them — and tell someone else when we're done.
